The Lower Trenton Bridge is celebrating its 100th year of being a public bridge in New Jersey.
The bridge is known for sporting the famous slogan “Trenton Makes, The World Takes.” The bridge was lit up with rainbow LED lights for the celebration.
The bridge spanning the Delaware River was originally a railroad bridge in 1806.
The famous slogan was added in 1911 as a way to honor Trenton’s industry and blue-collar worth ethic.
The bridge was first lit up in 1935.
