Department store chain Lord & Taylor announced that it will be closing all 38 of its remaining store locations, including nine in New Jersey.
The chain was first established 194 years ago but filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 2. The original plan was to leave some locations open, but the decision to close all stores came on Thursday.
Lord & Taylor officials say that closing all its stores was a better financial decision than leaving some open.
The liquidators for Lord & Taylor say that customers can expect major discounts on merchandise sold in both the stores and online. But all sales will be final, according to the retailer’s website.
