A new study suggests New Jersey workers could face significant disruption from artificial intelligence in the coming years.
According to SmartAsset, New Jersey ranks among the top 15 states where jobs are most vulnerable to the effects of AI.
The study found that 3.4% of New Jersey's workforce is employed in occupations considered at high risk for disruption by artificial intelligence.
Researchers estimate about 144,000 New Jersey residents work in one of the 26 occupations identified as being most vulnerable.
Those jobs include mathematicians, proofreaders, court reporters and web developers.
Experts say AI is expected to automate or alter some job responsibilities, while creating new opportunities in other fields.
