The Department of Motor Vehicles will introduce Long Island-specific regional license plates starting Tuesday.
It is part of the DMV's plan to introduce special plates for New York's 10 different regions.
The image chosen by the DMV to represent Long Island is the Montauk Lighthouse. It will appear in the background of the new custom plates.
