With a great stretch of weather expected this week, many will head to the Jersey Shore for what is known as “local summer.”
There were dozens of people out on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach on Monday. Beaches at the shore are open and free, making for the perfect time to enjoy the day without the crowds.
"We have a beautiful week ahead of us. The weather is nice. I hope everybody still comes out, there's people still out here,” says Jon Agudo, manager of Martell’s.
While the beaches are open, there are no lifeguards on duty. Beachgoers are urged to stay out of the ocean.
