Lawmakers call on Senate to approve bill that would preserve nation’s threatened wildlife

Connecticut lawmakers are calling on the Senate to give final approval to a bill designed to preserve the nation's threatened wildlife.
Rep. Jim Himes was joined by environmental advocates at the Fairfield Audubon Society to talk about the Recovering America's Wildlife Act passed by the House last week.
The bill includes $12 million for Connecticut to be used for restoring, protecting and conserving wildlife habitats.
“It will triple or quadruple the amount of funds the state has to preserve wildlife to preserve places like this where particularly now at a moment where we have our mental health challenges this could make all the difference to people,” said Himes.
The bill has some bi-partisan support in the Senate, but could get bogged down over funding.
