Among the many bills discussed in the State Assembly today was a bill known as Back to Work NJ.
New Jersey's Assembly first discussed a bill sponsored by Assemblywoman Shelia Oliver (D-East Orange) which allows people to keep receiving unemployment benefits while taking internships.
In a pre-vote news conference, Republicans said they hate the plan and its $3 million price tag. They said they would much rather see votes on Gov. Chris Christie's (R-N.J.) ideas to reform public education and shrink property taxes.
Back to Work NJ was approved along party lines, but the governor vetoed it once before.
