Kitten rescued from well in East Brunswick
A stray kitten has been rescued after falling down an abandoned well in East Brunswick. A homeowner on Paul Street says she heard the cries of the tiny cat Tuesday afternoon and called the authorities.

A stray kitten has been rescued after falling down an abandoned well in East Brunswick.
A homeowner on Paul Street says she heard the cries of the tiny cat Tuesday afternoon and called the authorities.
Animal control officers and volunteer firefighters came to help and rescue the kitten. They removed the concrete slab covering the well and found the feline on a ledge about 12 feet down.
The homeowner tells News 12 New Jersey that a chipmunk was also saved after rescue workers spotted it trying to stay afloat at the bottom of the well.
It is believed the kitten is part of a recent litter from a colony of feral cats that lives in the woods behind the home.
The homeowner is deciding if she will raise the kitten or turn it over to an animal shelter.
