The Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton is happy to announce that about half a dozen of the dogs they recently rescued from Texas have been adopted.
Earlier this week, News 12 reported that the shelter flew 20 dogs from rural Texas. Many of them were in poor shape, and likely would have been put down if they remained in the area.
In the short time since that story, Kent Animal Shelter has been able to get some of those dogs homes with loving families.
For instance, the O’Rourke family of Port Jefferson took home Ivy, a 1-year-old puppy.
The Elias family from Selden adopted a playful dog named Smiley.
