A 37-year-old Keansburg man remains in critical condition following an early morning house fire.
The fire started around 12:22 a.m. Tuesday at a home on the 100 block of Raritan Avenue. The man, a 34-year-old woman and six children ranging in age from an infant to 17 years old were inside at the time, but were able to get out.
Officials say that all of the home’s occupants suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital.
The woman and the six children have since been released.
The 37-year-old man suffered burns in addition to smoke inhalation and was taken to St. Barnabas Burn Center by helicopter.
The home suffered significant damage and is uninhabitable. The American Red Cross is helping the family with alternative housing arrangements.
