New Jersey resident and former talk show host Jon Stewart surprised construction workers in Red Bank Wednesday.
Stewart showed up outside the Count Basie Theater with a food truck from Shore Good Eat-N-Treats as a way to thank the crews working on an addition to the theater.
“The Basie has always had a place in my heart. I've played here before, I've come to see shows here. They treat all the artists really well. The community always supports everything really well, and now that they're building the addition I think this going to be a real hub,” Stewart says.
The $23 million expansion will double the size of the theater and make it one of the area’s largest performing arts centers.
