Residents of Sea Bright and other Jersey shore communities are preparing for possible flooding with this late season nor?easter.
Officials have issued a flood alert for the shore and updates are expected as the storm progresses. The fire department dispatched a mobile flood unit that is equipped with a built-in water suction system. It also has its own flat bottom boat for use in case a rescue is needed.
The fire chief said the last times Sea Bright was turned into a river was in 1992 when the center of town was under 4-5 feet of water. The weather reports for this storm are making some residents nervous because they sound a little too familiar.
The local hardware store is making sure they stay stocked with as many supplies as possible, in case of the worst.
