Jersey Proud: State police detective honored as Trooper of the Year
Michael Savnik spearheaded 16 apprehension fugitive enforcement operations, leading to the arrest of 119 offenders in just a one-year period.

The New Jersey State Police selected this year's Trooper of the Year, Detective Sergeant Michael Savnik.
Savnik, who is also a member of the New Jersey State Police's Crisis Negotiation Team - North Squad, spearheaded 16 apprehension fugitive enforcement operations, leading to the arrest of 119 offenders in just a one-year period.
Recipients of this award receive a red ribbon encased by a gold frame, which is to always be worn on the Class “A” uniform.
