Hundreds of children around New Jersey now have new winter coats, thanks to the New Jersey State Police.
Troopers just wrapped their annual coat drive. The effort was started by former State Police Maj. Carla Thomas in 2001.
Thomas was a kid with a hand-me-down coat. She retired a few years ago after a distinguished career.
