Monday marked 64 years since the Ultimate Weapon monument in Burlington County made its debut.
It's a bronze version of an army infantryman that for decades welcomed soldiers to Fort Dix.
The 14-foot tall, 3,000-pound statue served as a centerpiece in publications, a symbol of the fighting spirit of the U.S. Army.
The soldier who built it was longtime Cresskill resident Steven Goodman.
If you're ever at the joint base, you can find the statue at Sharpe Field.
