The Izod Center in East Rutherford has officially closed for good.
The center, which first opened in 1981 as the Brendan Byrne Arena, hosted its last event Sunday. The event featured a performance from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
The venue served as the home of the NBA's Nets before the team moved to its current spot at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The NHL's New Jersey Devils also played at the Izod Center before moving out.
New Jersey's Sports and Exposition Authority says the arena was expected to lose $8 million in 2015.
The closure will affect about 1,700 workers, ranging from parking attendants to stage hands.
