President-elect Joe Biden's transition team has still not been briefed by federal agencies on their coronavirus plans, including vaccine distribution, but at his own news conference, he talked about the possibility of a national mask mandate.
"We discussed the implementation of a national mask mandate,” says Biden. “Ten governors, Democrat and Republican, have imposed masking requirements and recognized the need for universal masking, north, south, east and west. It's not a political statement. It's a patriotic duty."
The president-elect says he doesn't intend on putting the country into a national shutdown.
