If you are looking for a new activity to try – how about pickleball?

The sport has been around since the 1960s but has become more popular recently. It is a mix of ping pong, badminton and tennis.

Howell Township is getting in on the craze and has opened four new courts in Deerwood Park.

“It’s getting a lot of interest – especially in the senior community. And now young people are playing and it’s a beautiful sport in terms of welcoming all types of people from all types of backgrounds,” says Tim Feehan, a certified pickleball instructor.

Court hours are from 7 a.m. until sunset. Online reservations are not required at this time.
