The Hebrew Institute in Riverdale is celebrating 66 years of Israel's independence with festivities tonight.
The holiday of Yom Ha'atzmaut began Monday evening and ends tonight.
The event kicked off with a salute to the American and Israeli flags. The celebration also included music, games for children and authentic Israeli cuisine.
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. attended the event and joined residents in a basketball game.
