An illegal immigrant who lived in Stafford Township received two consecutive life sentences Friday for kidnapping a woman and killing her two sons.

Richard Toledo pleaded guilty last month to beating the boys to death with a hammer two years ago. Toledo was renting a room with the family in 2006 when he kidnapped Wanda Gonzalez at knifepoint and forced her to withdraw $500 from the ATM. Gonzalez was able to call her husband from a cell phone. Her husband alerted police to the kidnapping, and later found their sons slain in their home.

Gonzalez was able to get away while Toledo stopped for gas. Toledo ran into the woods, but was later spotted by News 12 New Jersey?s Tony Caputo and eventually arrested.

Toledo also received an additional 30 years for kidnapping at his sentencing.
