The governor talked to President Donald Trump Friday after the president said houses of worship should be deemed essential and reopen immediately.
Gov. Murphy says whenever things reopen, there will be outdoor services before indoor ones.

"These are not black and white questions,” says Gov. Murphy. “Are you for worshipping or are you against worshipping - that's not the question. I personally would like to do that as someone who goes to church."

Police cited two churches in South Jersey over the weekend for having Sunday services attended by more than 100 people.
The limit for indoor gatherings remains 10 people, and applies to churches as well.
According to published reports, Catholic churches in Hudson, Bergen and Essex counties could further reopen next week for some services.
The Jersey Journal says phase two of the reopening archdiocese schedule goes into effect Monday, and would mean daily Mass, baptisms, funerals and weddings could take place -- all with limited numbers.
Daily Mass does not include Sundays, and each event would need to follow the archdiocese's safety measures.
