The homeless man at the center of an alleged GoFundMe scheme is expected to come to New Jersey to face charges.
However, before coming to New Jersey, Johnny Bobbit will have to clear up drug charges in Philadelphia.
The cases were holding Bobbitt in Philadelphia, even after he waived his right to an extradition hearing last week.
According to prosecutors, Bobbit worked with Mark D'Amico and Katelyn McClure, a couple from Burlington County, to make up a ‘feel good story’ in order to scam people.
Prosecutors say the tale of Bobbit using his last $20 to help a stranded McClure buy gas was actually a complete lie, manufactured to get strangers to donate more than $400,000 to help the Good Samaritan.
