Holocaust survivors from Monmouth County gathered together to celebrate their religion, and each other, for Passover.
The Passover Seder had all of the symbolic food such as matzo and bitter herbs, but to the guests, it was much more than a meal. It was about the company. The 55 Holocaust survivors who attended the Freehold Township Passover meal shared their stories with others who went through the same nightmare.
While most of the survivors lost mothers, fathers and siblings, to each other they are family. There are at least 300 Holocaust survivors living in Monmouth County. It is believed there may be even more who never registered.
