Several crews battled a large fire that destroyed a Keyport home Tuesday morning. The fire broke out just after 6:30 a.m., and smoke could be seen from several blocks away. Keyport officials posted a notice on Facebook asking residents to avoid the area of Green Grove Avenue and Maple Place until further notice “to allow emergency responders to safely do their job.” People were advised to use alternate routes to get around the neighborhood.
