There is a HEAT ADVISORY and an AIR QUALITY ALERT in effect for New Jersey through today and tomorrow for high heat and humidity. Reduced air quality can cause heat illness symptoms.
As advertised, the heat blossomed under hazy sunshine this afternoon. Carolina air continues to inundate the region with mugginess, so it feels like a sauna out there.
We've got one more day of this before a line of storms slams into the state with severe weather, but more comfortable air is behind it.
Tonight is clear with a touch of haze to our nighttime sky. Low drops to the upper 70s.
Wednesday is hot again. Highs well into the 90s. Feels like 100 to 105 degrees. Be a little more weather aware after 3 p.m. A line of thunderstorms could develop with gusty winds, dangerous lightning and a lot of rain in a short amount of time.
This isn't the storminess that breaks the back of the heat and humidity. That weather is on Thursday and Thursday could be a doozy of a day.
Stay tuned.
