The number of COVID-19 cases among children under
the age of 18 is rising in New Jersey, according to the state Health
Department.
The uptick comes as millions of students get ready to head back to
school.
New data shows two weeks ago,
nearly 6.6% of the more than 37,000 tests done on children have come back
positive. Cases in children
have been steadily rising since early July.
COVID-19 hospitalizations in New Jersey are also
increasing -- the number surpassing 1,000 for the first time since May.
A new report from the CDC says unvaccinated people are 29 times more
likely to be hospitalized.
