Health officials: 7 counties in New Jersey report more than 100 new COVID cases

There were 1,832 new COVID-19 cases reported statewide, with a transmission rate of 1.28. Health officials also announced 18 additional deaths.

Seven counties in New Jersey reported more than 100 new positive COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.
State health officials say that two of those counties reported more than 200 new cases. Essex County topped the state with 213 new cases, Union County had 200.
There were 1,832 new COVID-19 cases reported statewide, with a transmission rate of 1.28. Health officials also announced 18 additional deaths.
Hospitalizations remain above 1,000 for the last several days, with 1,133 COVID-19 patients in the hospital in total. There are 216 COVID patients in the intensive care unit and 78 on ventilators.
Gov. Murphy and state health officials say that they are concerned with the increase in coronavirus cases around the state. Murphy has stated that New Jerseyans should consider having smaller gatherings for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, saying that now is not the time to travel out of state to gather with a large number of people.
