Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A man has been arrested after a violent altercation between two brothers-in-law at a party on Bonnie Court in the Hillcrest section of Ramapo. The suspect allegedly attempted to kick in the front door, threatening to stab his brother-in-law. A third person trying to intervene was stabbed, suffering nonlife-threatening injuries. The altercation began after the suspect reportedly punched a 12-year-old girl in the face.
Toby Cohen and Brook Cohen-Peltz, a Scarsdale couple, lost their lives in a Thanksgiving Day crash in Connecticut. They were traveling with their three young children, who were all hospitalized after the crash. The vehicle left the road, struck a sign and trees before coming to a halt. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Firefighters extinguished a porch fire on New Vernon Road in Middletown and contained the rest inside the house. No injuries were reported, and the Hudson Valley Red Cross is assisting at least one person affected by the incident.
