BITTER BLAST: Formidable freeze continues; expect even colder conditions Wednesday morning

More dangerous cold will continue to be funneled south from Siberia for the next few days. Tonight and Wednesday morning will be the coldest stretch we will have to endure. Parts of Sussex County will once again have actual air temperatures range from 10 to 15 below zero by daybreak, while the rest of the state will see the mercury plummet to the low single digits.
While the next few days will remain well below the norm, it looks as though the winds will let up some and it won't feel or be as harsh.
Chilled sunshine is back for Wednesday. Temperatures will recover slightly as the day wears on. Daily highs should be in the mid- to upper-teens again. Forty is normal, so look for temperatures to again be about 20 degrees below the average.
The remainder of the week is storm-free. The cold will continue, but we do see the air slowly climbing to near the freezing mark by Saturday. Forecasting fingers crossed will have seasonable temperatures for Sunday.
The computer guidance is suggesting some light snow for Monday. This doesn't look to be a big storm or a big deal. In fact, the latest information is suggesting the system might not develop at all, but it is something to keep tabs on. Stay tuned.
