Water main repairs completed, Valley Brook Avenue reopens in Lyndhurst

A broken water main that affected thousands in Lyndhurst overnight has been fixed.

Repairs to the 10-12-inch line that ruptured on Tuesday afternoon have been completed, and Valley Brook Avenue near Ridge Road has reopened.

However, the boil water advisory in Lyndhurst remains in effect until lab results are returned from a water sample, which is expected to happen by late morning to early afternoon on Thursday, Jan. 23. Residents are advised to boil their water for domestic use, including cooking and drinking, until further notice.
