U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, of Pennsylvania, called out Sen. Bob Menendez who is under indictment, stating that the senator needs to leave the Senate.
Fetterman appeared on ABC’s “The View” on Friday. It comes on the same day that the United States House of Representatives voted to expel New York Rep. George Santos.
Santos had been the center of multiple scandals since he was elected last year and races federal charges related to alleged fraud and campaign finance violations.
“We have a colleague in the senate that actually does much more sinister and serious kind of things – Sen. Menendez. He needs to go,” Fetterman said. “If you’re going to expel Santos how can you allow somebody like Menendez to remain in the Senate.”
Federal prosecutors have charged Menendez with conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, conspiracy to commit extortion and conspiracy for a public official to act as a foreign agent.
Menendez has denied any wrongdoing and has refused to resign.
