U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez defended himself on Capitol Hill on Wednesday for attending a Ukraine briefing.
This comes as many of his colleagues are calling for his resignation following his and his wife’s indictments.
"Bottom line is I'm a United States senator. I have my security credentials, and an accusation is just that. It's not proof of anything,” the Democrat said.
Menendez and his wife Nadine were indicted in September for bribery. The senator was also charged last week with conspiracy.
