With only one weekend left before Tuesday's primary, New Jersey gubernatorial candidates criss-crossed the state Friday in an effort to get last-minute votes.

Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli hit the campaign trail early in the day. He said he started at 6 a.m. and greeted New Jersey Transit riders from the East Rutherford station.

His Republican opponent, current Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno was unavailable for an interview but spent the day on official lieutenant governor duties. Her communications director, Ricky Diaz, said she plans a full-on campaign blitz all weekend and Monday leading up to the primary.

Democratic candidate Jim Johnson also had a full plate Friday. He said he'd be spending the day talking with voters by phone and the "airwaves" through the weekend.

Other Democratic candidates like John Wisniewski ended his day of campaigning with a town hall meeting held through Facebook Live. Democratic frontrunner Phil Murphy rallied in Plainfield.

Political experts are predicting record-low voter turnout this Tuesday.
