Small businesses in New Jersey can now get help paying their leases during the pandemic.
A total of $6 million from the federal CARES Act will be made available to these businesses. The grants, which will be awarded by the New Jersey Redevelopment Authority, are for businesses up to 5,000 square feet.
“This is part of a broader Main Street Commercial Corridors Relief program that will provide small businesses in Redevelopment Authority-covered municipalities with up to $10,000 in direct help to pay their rent,” Gov. Phil Murphy said.
The governor says that the funds will also help property owners.
