A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the June robbery of a Wayne jewelry store, police said.
Corey J. Boyd, 28, of Paterson, was arrested July 8 after detectives from the Wayne and Clifton police departments spotted him while working on an unrelated investigation in Paterson, according to the Wayne Police Department.
Police said Boyd had recently been identified as a suspect in the June 16 robbery at Massola Jewelers through the ongoing investigation in Wayne.
Detectives coordinated with the Paterson Police Department as they followed Boyd. Officers moved in after the vehicle he was riding in stopped, and Boyd attempted to flee on foot before he was quickly apprehended, police said.
Boyd was taken to Paterson Police Headquarters before being transferred to the Wayne Police Department on an outstanding robbery warrant. He was later taken to the Passaic County Jail pending a detention hearing, police said.
Authorities said Boyd is the third suspect arrested in the investigation.
