Gov. Andrew Cuomo held a briefing on the COVID-19 response and demonstrations in New York.
He discussed the NYS Police Reform & Reinvention Collaborative. This will include budget, staffing, use of force and defunding the police. He says the deadline to reform the local public safety function is April 1, 2021.
He says the relationship between the police and community isn't working.
Cuomo said it won't be be restored until everyone comes to the table and finds a way forward.
Regarding reopening - New York's path forward is dictated by facts, says he looks at facts on a daily basis.
