Gas station owner killed in Newark

Authorities say a gas station owner was shot and killed on Memorial Day in Newark. Police officers responded to a reported shooting on the 400 block of West Market Street just before 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say a gas station owner was shot and killed on Memorial Day in Newark.
Police officers responded to a reported shooting on the 400 block of West Market Street just before 4:30 p.m. Monday. 
Davinder Singh was found unresponsive at the Power Gas Station, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's office. The 47-year-old was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:42 p.m.
Officials did not give a motive for the homicide. No suspects have been identified.
