Practice was canceled today for the Asbury Park High School football team, and it's now unclear if a season will happen at all.

A game this past Friday had to be canceled when it was discovered that so many players had been deemed ineligible, there weren't enough to field a full team.

The Blue Bishops are due to play their next game Friday at home.

Eligibility has to do with a number of factors, including a student's grades, their home address and their age.

School officials say meetings are ongoing to resolve the situation, but no decisions are expected to be made Tuesday.
