Funeral services set for  Newark man killed in a hit-and-run
Funeral services have been set for a 23-year-old Newark man killed in a hit-and-run.
Mujahid Henry, known simply as 'Mu Henry' was killed early Friday morning in the 1200 block of East Linden Avenue, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office.
Eduardo Perez, 33, of Elizabeth, is facing charges for the alleged hit-and-run.
Henry was just days away from getting his diploma from Rutgers University.
The young man from Newark had goals of public service, and took his positivity to the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the office of Leonard Luciano.
He also volunteered on Phil Murphy's campaign for governor.
Monday's funeral services will take place at the NIA Masjid in Newark at 1 p.m.
