Crews in Bergen County are dealing with another water main break that sent water pouring onto the roadway Monday morning in Montvale.

Mayor Mike Ghassali posted video around 6:30 a.m. showing water flowing out of the ground on Kinderkamack Road near the Katy townhomes close to the New York border.

Officials say the road remains open in both directions, but drivers are being asked to avoid the area as repair work continues.

Weekend coverage

The latest break comes after crews spent the weekend repairing multiple others during bitter cold temperatures.

Officials say Montvale has had four ither water main breaks since Friday night.

All of the breaks have occurred along Grand Avenue and Kinderkamack Road.

Crews had completed repairs on a break at Grand Avenue and Memorial Drive, but officials say it burst again Sunday.

Ghassali says freezing temperatures could be contributing to the repeated breaks.

He says there were concerns about nearby schools and businesses, but water pressure remains steady, and no customers lost service. Schools are expected to open on schedule unless families hear otherwise from the superintendent.
