A man who operates four dairy queens in New Jersey was fined more than $23,000 for wage and child labor violations, the federal government says.
The U.S. Department of Labor says franchise owner Konstantine Menegatos failed to pay one worker minimum wage and did not pay about a dozen other workers proper overtime. They say a total of 23 minors were affected.
The government says some minors worked late or more than three hours on school days which is also against labor law.
Menegatos operates Dairy Queens locations in Emerson, West Milford, Rutherford and Belmar.
