Kareem McKenzie spent seven years hitting defenders and protecting New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning during the team's two most recent Super Bowl Championships.

But more recently, he's been hitting the books and working to protect urban youth from the perils of drug use as a Ph.D. student and counselor.

News 12's Brian Donohue caught up with McKenzie as he lined up to receive his Ph.D. at the Kean University Graduate Commencement.
