We're watching our situation get better here in par sip and he's still bad, right? This is New Road. Ok? So this basically is the go between between 46 which is in front of me and 280 behind me. So you cannot take the 280 exit where the Wawa is to get to 46. You gotta go on New Street and this is the median here right in the middle and look how far out that water goes. It goes all in front of this entire complex, this uh apartment complex here, there is no way in or out for these apartment uh for these people that live in these apartments. We actually did speak to one girl uh earlier and this is what she had to say. I don't know what I have to do. So, you know, I I'm waiting. That's, that's not really, I have to wait in, I come back to home. I'm trying to come back to home, but I have to park in over there because it's a lot of water over here and I can park in back to home. Sure. So it puts them in a tough spot. Because it's private parking over here. So they don't know if their cars are going to be towed or not. But you could see there essentially on an island. You could just see they're just waiting and looking at the water to go down. Now, this cone was put out by police and you could see the additional cones were put out too. Look how far back the water is now starting to push. So it looks like the water has reached its peak, but it's still, it's a bad situation getting better because all the way down there, there's also additional cones and you could see the water level is still up to where the second white line is there just behind me. So that means that water is still a foot deep in the middle of New road here in Parsippany. Thunderbolt. Well, has been all over Parsippany, Troy Hills. We've been uh going the lake Hiwat section into Montville, monitoring the Rockaway river. It does appear that water levels are going down here. So we'll just continue to drive around and monitor these river levels. We're in Parsippany, Lauren de News. 12 New Jersey.

Actually here, we're in the Lake Iwata section of Parsippany. And this is the Rockaway River here and you can look at the trees, look at the water line right there. The Rockaway River is actually starting to recede. So that is definitely uh very welcome to some of the neighbors here. I have some of them right here. And Sean Karen, Karen, you live down the street, Sean, you got a beautiful property here. Oh, yeah, this is beautiful. But I mean, you've seen this time and time again, right? I lived here all my life and this is a common thing, probably third or fourth time in the last three or four months. But um yeah, so it's crazy but yeah, it happens, it happens. And Karen, what do you have to do? Because you said you have signs and they work and you're trying to navigate them all around. Oh, I'm trying to keep on top of all the traffic and everything so they can get home in one piece and everything. But this is nothing compared to what we've had in the past. I mean, the water would come all the way up to Carlson place and everything. And one year when it was Irene, we were basically an island. We couldn't get out, know how on any of the roads and that it's, it's been bad. It's definitely been worse. But this is nothing. This is just, this is just something that brings out the neighbors to talk. Right. And have a block party. Oh, man. Well, you know, it's just something to see and all this water unfortunately is gonna go downstream and go feed into the Passaic River, right? Is that how it all works over here? That is correct. It comes from the reservoir up up on top of Lakeshore up there, Greenbrier. But uh yeah, it flows right through. They open the dams. We'll get a lot more water. But I know where my son works in Pine Brook. His place is getting flooded right now. He's off at 46 and his parking lots are all getting flooded. So hopefully it'll stop soon. Well, unfortunately, we have more rain on the way as Mike Rizzo has been telling us all morning and then potentially some snow after that. So the wet weather is definitely not ending. We're having a bad season this year completely. Well, it's been fun hanging out with you. So I appreciate your time this morning. You got a great looking sunrise here, but it's just incredible to see the Rockaway River just going right onto the road there over sweeping the bridge this morning. So we'll keep you posted. Actually the Rockaway River is lowering where we are. Mike Rizzo also reporting that in and so we're in mo they actually just drove over no road bridge over here and there, it's blocked off part of the road and I'm going to show you that. But first, I want to show you the river here and you could see it's still flowing underneath the bridge, has not breached the bridge, but look at the trees off in the distance there, you could see where the water line was. So I would say the river coming down at least 6 to 8 inches here, but it's hill is flowing into that person's uh beautiful backyard. They got a great view here. So uh Scott Pans that came around, you can see how the Rockaway River is moving very swiftly. It's moving very fast. And actually the Rockaway River is a tributary of the Passaic River, which is where Tony Caputo is. So this is what I mentioned how there's still a section of road that's blocked off, ok. It doesn't look deep, right? But we actually saw a couple of cars drive by and the water just kind of sprays up now, there are barricades right here. You can see thunder 12 is parked. We're driving around this morning checking on the, the, the flooding, the Montvale Police Department put out those barricades and there have been a few cars that do go by but they actually move those barricades. I asked them, why are they going through? And they say they have to go to work today. So they're going through the barricades but they're trying to sneak around the flooded river here. But this just goes to show how river flooding. You can literally see how the river overtakes the banks and goes right onto the road right into people's neighborhoods here. And again, this is in Montville, this is a tributary that goes right into the Passaic river. So we're gonna be driving around to keep you updated. Like Mike Rizzo said, Tony Caputo, uh Simon Nick, everyone, we're getting more rain. So I talked to the police actually in Parsippany. That's where we just were and they said they're prepared for flooding once again. So everyone at this point is preparing and waiting, whether it's water going down or water going up. Whether it's Bergen County or Morris County as well. This morning, flooding remains an issue. Yeah, especially along rivers that have not just crested just yet. News 12 New Jersey's Lauren De is in one of the communities in Parsippany right now along the Rockaway River. Now, Lauren, I'm sure folks in that area are worried about the damage that flooding could cause. You know, and, and look at this, there's actually an apartment complex right there that is completely sounded surrounded by water. This is New Road. It's in between 46 and 280. Ok. So if you're coming off of 280 it's the off ramp. You can still access it. But if you're coming from 46 trying to get to that WW to hop on to 280 you cannot get that. We do have resident here. We wanna bring her on. This is Karen and Karen. You were telling me that you work overnight, you could come this side, you're OK. And you were telling me that you worked overnight. So you kinda just we, we went around to leave your apartment because you're completely surrounded by water. So you parked over there because you don't wanna drive through the flood. Yeah, I can drive to home because I always, I park in, over there. But, uh, you know, yeah, you're not gonna go through this. I can, I can go over there. But, uh, you know, the police is over here all day, all night. But, uh, it's very difficult with the old resident over here because we try to get their, get the life, you know, everyone want to go to work and come to here to home. It's very difficult. It's very, very difficult. And you just had to deal with this a few weeks ago. There was some serious flooding going on here too. Yeah, of course. So, um, so now I'm trying to parking over here to the front. Maybe somebody, uh, called tomorrow the Toy. I know that's the thing because it's because it's private. Oh, you're because it is private property and, and that's what's so tricky about this is that it's private property and you're trying to figure out where to park. So, it, it's tricky. It certainly puts you in a tough spot. Yeah. But, you know, uh, I wanna speak to the police because I don't know why I have to do so. You know, I, I'm waiting, that's, that's, that's really, I have to wait in. I come back to home. I'm trying to come back to home but I have to park in over there because it's a lot of water over here and I can park in back to home, but at least you got some good desserts to eat and I give it to you. This is all for you. You did my party, uh Employers today. So this is a dessert. This is, this is a tiny room to do. So I give it to you. No, you're making the best out of this situation. It puts, puts everyone's, I give it to her. It puts everyone in a tough spot this morning. But I, I, you, today you gotta have a good attitude about it. Flooding remains a threat this morning for communities along rivers that have not yet crested. News from New Jersey's Lauren De is in one of those communities this morning. Lauren, you are in Parsippany along the Passaic River. What's the level of concern today? Well, you know, this is, it's actually hard to tell if there's any improvement here in Parsippany. We're actually along the Rockaway River which is a tributary that goes into the Passaic River and we just heard from Mike Rizzo that it crested. But look at this, there is still certainly a level of concern here. This is New Road, ok? And this is between 46 and 280. If you're familiar with the area, this is where that Wawa off ramp is. You cannot access the new road. So if you're trying to get from 46 to w why you cannot get there taking new road, you can get to the Wawa though if you're taking 280 by the way. But in between there, you cannot access it because of this flooding. Look how deep this water is that water basically going to the top of the cones there, you got to imagine those cones are about 2 ft high. So the water obviously at least a foot deep in some points there, you could see police lights on either end of this. No one is getting into that shopping complex. You cannot drive a car through this, do not even attempt through this. And what's unfortunate about this type of flooding is that you have apartments to the right and that is where, you know, people could potentially be trapped, you know, if they did not evacuate and they have all that flooding there. There's no way in or out of the apartment complex that isn't flooded at this point. So they're basically just stuck there unless they could go around and walk in some grassy spots behind the apartment complex. But the Rockaway River over blowing its banks, the Rockaway River is right along new road here. It basically essentially runs parallel. There's also some bad flooding up near the Lake Hiwat area is what I'm told. And actually we just got off the phone with Denville Police and they said there was really bad flooding on 46 we do a video of cars driving through route 46 there and they said that they had to do two water rescues. Cars were trapped in the flooded waters. The first one was on Ridgeway Parkway and the second one was on West Maine Street in both situations, drivers drove around the barricades. So that is going to be our main messaging today. If you see those barricades do not move them. We know Tony Caputo was on the story yesterday. Unfortunately, someone moved, those barricades did not put them back and someone unfortunately basically sunk, their car was up to the roof, so do not drive through any flooded roads.
