This work week is starting off with a summer sizzle.
An excessive heat warning until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Today and tomorrow afternoon could feel like 105 or greater with the humidity.
There is also an air quality alert starting at 11 a.m. The air pollution might reach unhealthy levels, so limit times outdoors.
Commuters are trying to beat the heat.
"Just ride my scooter, go 15 mph get the breeze in my hair and stay hydrated of course," said Ethan Vernick of Westfield.
The American Red Cross recommends staying hydrated, aim for about of water per day and avoid sugary, caffeinated and alcoholic drink.
