One person has died after falling into the water in Perth Amboy.
A spokesperson for the Perth Amboy mayor's office tells News 12 New Jersey that two people were fishing on the dock near the marina on Front Street when one of them fell into the water.
The other person jumped in and tried to rescue his friend, but the person who fell in did not survive.
The person who jumped was taken to the hospital to be treated.
Officials did not immediately release any details about the victim.
