The wildfire in Pompton Lakes is now completely contained, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service Sunday night.

The wildfire was originally doused Friday night before it sparked again on Saturday.

Officials say it burned 181 acres.

As of Sunday night, no structures were threatened and Cannonball Road was open once again.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

Fire crews continued to battle the Pompton Lakes wildfire on Sunday, according to officials.

The blaze began Friday night on the property of the former Dupont-Chemours worksite.

The local fire department provided protection to buildings that were threatened by the fire.

Interstate 287 was also impacted, but all lanes had reopened on Sunday morning.

Video submitted by a News 12 viewer shows a helicopter lifting water out of Pompton Lake and dousing the fire on the mountain.

The site of the fire had been subject to extensive remediation due to contaminated soil and groundwater.
