An Elmwood Park firefighter is expected to make a full recovery after suffering a heart attack while fighting a fire Thursday night.
Elmwood Park Fire Chief Michael Foligno tells The Record newspaper the firefighter was revived by CPR and was taken to a hospital for surgery. His name was not released.
The fire on Halstead Place Thursday displaced two families. None of the residents were injured.
Chief Foligno says the fire does not appear suspicious and investigators found no sign of foul play.
