A father and son from Middlesex County were sentenced for setting off a homemade explosive that severely injured a man, authorities said.
Thomas Kaiser, 60, and his 28-year-old son Erich Kaiser detonated the device in Manville in July 2024, sending shrapnel into a 34-year-old man who required hospitalization.
Thomas received a six-year prison sentence, while Erich was sentenced to three years of probation.
