A Newark family whose home was destroyed when an SUV came flying through the window has decided to move out.
Inez Hurston, who lived in the home, says she was in the second-story living room with her 2-month-old grandson just before the SUV crashed into the Wickliffe Street residence.
According to police, the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder lost control, hit a barrier out front and went airborne, crashing into the second floor and right into the room that had been occupied just moments earlier.
Authorities say a 39-year-old woman from West Orange was behind the wheel of the SUV. She and her male passenger were not hurt.
Some of the people who resided at the house went to the hospital to be checked out, but no one was admitted. Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
Right now, police are calling this an unfortunate accident, and no tickets have been issued.
