Fire investigators were forced to evacuate a home in Wayne after discovering a box containing possible explosive devices.
Firefighters and police officers were inside the home at 190 Park Lane in Wayne after a fire broke out Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were originally called to the area for reports of thick smoke and flames in the area. The fire was quickly put out, and no one was injured.
While Wayne Police Arson investigators and officials from the Wayne Township Fire Bureau were investigating the fire, they found a cardboard box labeled "dynamite." Inside the box were several 6-inch-long tube-like, cylindrical items.
The home was immediately evacuated and the Passaic County Sheriff Department Bomb Squad was called in.
They soon found out that the "dynamite" was actually wooden dowels resembling sticks of dynamite.
Officials say that the house fire does not appear to be suspicious.
